WHEREAS, the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources at its Conference on Productivity and Conservation in Northern Circumpolar Lands, in Edmonton, Alberta, 15-17 October 1969, adopted a resolution on threatened species of animals, and,
WHEREAS, the concepts expressed have been of frequent and public concern to members, the American Society of Mammalogists supports Resolution Number three* in its concern about circumpolar environment and in particular the polar bear, the Atlantic Walrus, and the Wolf and the Brown Bear in Fenno-Scandinavia.
