Greetings fellow mammalogists!
As many of you are aware, early registration (https://mammalmeetings.org/registration/) and abstract submission (https://mammalmeetings.org/abstracts/ deadlines for the Purdue ASM meeting was March 31st at midnight Pacific time. We are still waiting on some award announcements, and there may have been some confusion about when abstracts were due. So, we are extending the abstract submission until 11:59 pm Pacific time April 7th, 2025. Please be sure to get your submission in by then. We have already started reviews of abstracts so the sooner you get it in, the sooner we can get you an acceptance letter. If you already uploaded your abstract but would like to modify it, you can log back into the portal to do so.
As a reminder, this year’s meeting includes four possible field trips, 12 workshops (including some mid-meeting options), and three symposia. We have scheduled an exciting variety of social events, including the (free) student social in the Purdue Memorial Union bowling alley/e-gaming center, the (cheap) picnic at the Wright Forestry Center in Martell Forest, and our (free) closing social. The T-Shirts look great (see below) so be sure to pick one up when you register or contact the business office after.
We have made every effort to make the meeting affordable; the scheduled evening socials will have heavy appetizers, the student social will have a buffet, the student ticket for the Picnic is $15 and the closing social is free for all. Additionally, we will have vendors selling art, books, and equipment, as well as vendors who could be potential career opportunities. Our workshops include some very useful training opportunities that would cost hundreds of dollars to attend in other situations.
Lodging is arranged at either the Union Club Hotel (which is connected to the meeting spaces) or the First Street Towers residence hall (a few blocks away from the meeting space). The hotel has single king bedrooms or double TWIN bedrooms. There is not a meal plan included with the residence hall rooms however, the meeting space has a food court attached.
We also have arranged childcare to be provided by Kiddie Corp, the same company that we used in Anchorage. The cost is $50/child/day. Please be sure to register for this as soon as possible. If you decide after registration that you need to add child-care you can reach out to the ASM Business office (cclassi@mammalsociety.org).
This year’s meeting promises to be a great one, we hope to see you there!
