WHEREAS, the preservation of a segment of the remaining true prairie is in the interests of the people because of its scientific, historic, aesthetic and educational values; and
WHEREAS, the Advisory Board on National Parks has recommended to the Secretary of the Interior the establishment of the True Prairie National Park of approximately 34,000 acres in the Flint Hills of Kansas;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the American Society of Mammalogists commends the stated action of the Advisory Board on National Parks and recommends to the Secretary of the Interior the early establishment of the True Prairie National Park.
