WHEREAS, Dr. William B. Davis has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Society of Mammalogists for fifteen years; and
WHEREAS, the value of the Reserve Fund has grown during his stewardship from the rags of $150,000 to the riches of $275,000; and
WHEREAS, the annual income to the Society from the Reserve Fund has increased under his loving care from $4400 to $18,000; and
WHEREAS, the success of his efforts has made it possible for the Society to provide services to its thousands of members at significantly reduced costs;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the members of the American Society of Mammalogists extend their sincerest thanks to Dr. W. B. Davis for his many years of devoted, generous, and knowledgeable service which has contributed so much to the achievements of our Society.
